good reasonably priced vocal mic?

Unread post by Jay » Mon Jun 09, 2003 11:32 pm

my new guitar is an acoustic/electric, so i guess i can start recording things...i'm looking for a good vocal mic, and i don't wanna say a price yet because i don't know what to expect.

also, i can use this to record a guitar right? because i am probably gonna string my old one in raised B and then a bunch of other wierd tunings later for david gray songs...but it doesn't have pickups...

thanks

I saw a Shure mic in a issue of American Musical Supply I got a few days ago. It was a cardioid mic and was a top seller in their magazine. From what I hear you need to get a cardioid mic if you want quality (vocal) recordings. The mic was $100 dollars and like $10 or $20 more for one with an on off switch. Sorry I cant give you anymore info but I cant find the magazine, if I do Ill post back here. Anyone else wanna help a little more than that?

depending on what you need exactly...this one was for like $60 (maybe more...) but it does well for me...I run right into my BR-8...I am not sure how great it would suit you, so just compare info and go with your gut
