Fishman electronics

Well i made my first trip to guitar center today and i'm pretty sure i'm gonna get the martin dx1...great sound, reasonable price...i'm gonna get a pickup installed in it and have been told that fishman is the best...i had a couple questions about it....the natural 1 or 2? either one of those verses getting the prefix, do you have to purchase both or does the prefix come with a pickup, is the prefix necessary? any help would be appreciated...
