looks like a good deal.. but its bad for guitars to be string-less for long periods of time... for this reason, i wouldnt buy it.

if you hadnt removed the strings i might have purchased it just for fun. As a future note, leaving strings off a guitar for long periods of time is horrible for the neck; it needs the tension. Thats why when you change guitar strings, you do it one at a time.

old myth. Luthiers usually suggest removing all strings when restringing to wipe down the fretboard and make it easier to remove stuck pegs. Also it is very good to slack them before travelling for various reasons. Check frets.com, lots of good hints and myth buster stuff there.

Leaving strings off for extended periods, tho, is usually a bad thing for the guitar. The tension in the truss rod will cause warpage in the neck (the strings are supposed to counteract this tension). But again, this should only happen over long periods, not the few minutes between restringing.

I doubt that a $100 guitar will ever be warped to a noticable extent..it already is going to sound pretty bad, so get the thing for shits and giggles.. it'd by cool and fun to have.

I agree with you, i remove all my strings to clean my fretboard every month or so..

hehe, very true, that. And hell, $45? you could use it as a beater for campfires, beach parties, picnics. Once it starts smelling like smoke and has a few dents from the rock your drunk friend dropped it on, a month spent without strings is the least of its problems ;)

too bad I already have a $70 guitar i use for this stuff.

Lol, that would be fun. End of some open-mic... that one guy in the front row... ;)

All this talk almost made me want to buy it just to try to turn it around. then I found it for $25, brand new, free shipping. cheapest guitar i've ever seen.

the strings being off it aren't going to "OMG DESTROY" the guitar. learn how to adjust a truss rod, nubs.
