if it has a serial number on the inside of the soundhole, on a piece of paper there you can date it. You could just call martin and they would tell you. Thats quite a pickup, were always up for long storys unless you dont want to tell it, sounds like it could be interesting. Anyway, congrats.

first of all thanks for telling me how dude. a quick story of how i got it. my sisters boyfriends mother was going out with the rich snobby dude who bought this martin back in the 70s i believe when he used to play and then he never touched it in years, it just sat in the attic or something. so anyway my sisters boyfriend brought it over and i kept it for a while. not too longer after that my sisters boyfriends mom left the guy and now i still have the guitar. no one likes the guy because he is a dick (pardon my french  ) so we will never see him again and i have his guitar. he probaly wont even notice its missing. theres my story , sry if i bored you

I wish this was my story

Man, if it's in good condition, and the neck is fine, you got some big bucks there. It would be worth more than a new one today! I say sell it, get a new one made today, and then use the rest of the money to buy more stuff (effects, amps, ect.).

You lucky son of a bitch! You must feel great!

unless it was a 1969 Martin its not gonna be worth as much. '69 was the last year Martin used brazillian rosewood on all their guitars. so unless its... *does math* 35+ years old, its not gonna be that much money.

It's my dream to find an old Martin in someone's attic/basement, and for that person to know nothing about guitars and sell it to me for like $50.
