Ok, so I am thinking of getting one...does anyone habe one or have you played with one? Tim uses one, and he gets awesome acoustic sounds...I might get one soon and want some feedback...so, what say you?

i use mine all the time. every show. it is really simple to adjust. and now i have found a tone that i like so i rearely ever change it. usually just run the house PA EQ at level and then the little DI is already adjusted for everything. and wow. even setting the EQ at 12'oclock and running just the sansampiness of the thing is a huge improvement in depth of the tone. it was my best addition to my effects chain so far. (oh and i guess i should say that i play acoustic)

Which one are you talking about, the acoustic one, bass one, etc. (I assume acoustic but really dont know) I just looked this thing up on the net, what does it excatly do for you? I really dont know anything about electronics like this or pedals, effects, amps or anything, could any of you give me some products I should check out. I hear people talking about delay pedals a lot I think, anyone wanna inform me on some of this shit that I am so in the dark about?

many things...but you mainly use it as a preamp/direct box into a pa or whatever...it is supposta make your acoustic-electric sound into a sweet honey tone acoustic...

basically, a DI box takes a sound and balances it to a much cleaner sound. the line out of the direct boxes are XLR which is a balanced feed, and usually runs straight to the board with very good results.

Yeah I'm pretty much in the dark as far as guitar electronics go also. I have an electric amp that I got off my friend for almost free, anyway I've been playing an acoustic electric through it, but it sounds pretty rough. I saw this pedal on the internet, and was wondering if it would help clean up the sound. It's a pretty nice electric amp, and won't be able to find an acoustic amp as good for anywhere close to the price. I really don't want to get rid of it anyway in case I ever try playing electric. Any info would be good.
Thanks,
Adam

the zoom pedal will help modify the sound, however it will always sound "rough" because electric amps are designed with electric guitars in mind. i suggest you look into acoustic amps.monkieonastring wrote:Yeah I'm pretty much in the dark as far as guitar electronics go also.
