Need Advice Please
So I would love ot get a nice ,high end ,hand built, wood, guitar but I have one problem: I'm constantly moving and I expect to start traveling pretty extensively. I just recently considered getting one of those all carbon/graphite guitars so I don't have to worry abouot destroying a wood guitar. The problem is the synthetic guitars are still really expensive and I want to know what people opinions are before I spend the money. Thanks.

Im not a huge fan of the composite guitars. I really dont see what the huge problem is here though; as long as it comes with a decent hard case (like all taylors and martins) and you dont recklessly take care of the thing, there isnt an issue. But if you are looking for a wood guitar that can take a beating, i recommend the Martin Road Series (DM, DR, etc.) They have a very good tone and are meant to be travelled with so they can take a hit or two. Just my $.02 though.
Good luck.
Good luck.

I cant imagine being able to haul around a high end hand made guitar without a case. The case isnt a whole lot heavier than just the guitar (meaning it doesnt add a hundred pounds or anything like that) and the benefits of using one far outway the convienience of not using one. For high end hand made guitars there is always Taylor or Martin but for a nice handmade guitar with a low profile case that might suit your situation try this. I played my friends new one yesterday and its pretty nice... http://www.seagullguitars.com/productmosaic.htm
If your friend is already dead, and being eaten by vultures, I think it's okay to feed some bits of your friend to one of the vultures, to teach him to do some tricks. But ONLY if you're serious about adopting the vulture.
Well it doesnt' sound like anyone has played these and thats really what I was looking for. I assure you that a hand built solid wood acoustic in a hardshell case would be a supreme bitch to have when travelling. I'm not going somewhere and staying in a hotel for a couple weeks it's a lot more intensive than that i.e. lots of plain trips, humidity/tempature changes. I guess you guys are unaware of how bad this is for a soldi body guitar. Thanks anyway though.

Played which? seagull guitars? seagulls are actually very nice guitars. they have a slightly less full sound, but my god they are bright and comfortable to play. They're Canadian-made and have great craftsmanship. More than that, check out the ESP case that seagull also markets, its a inject molded foam case thats as light as a gig-bag and protects your guitar from ridiculous punishment. Not only do i own one and know this from personal experience, I also have seen demonstrations where they put a guitar into this case, throw it hard against a wall a few times, pull the guitar out and play it still in tune.

Are you talking about a Rainsong guitar? If so, they're like 2k. My sister's boyfriend has one and loves it. She just started dating him so I haven't had a chance to see or play it yet. The first time we hung out was last week and we talked the whole time about guitars. I had never heard of these carbon graphite guitars before then. But he said "It's awesome. You never have to tune it. Man, you could stick it out in the snow for a week, then pick it up and it would play just fine." Sounds like they're pretty durable and resiliant to changes in climate. He also said, they're very resiliant to scratching or dings and shit.
my name's lance and i like nuts
