I love mine, it was my first guitar. I still use it as my party guitar.

That a beaut. The only thing about some of the Alvarez's is that they don't have position markers. I dunno how I would play without them.

all of them do, they just dont have it on the fretboard surface, the dots are on the top of the fretboard, so you cant see them from the front

If you have around 600 check out the Alvarez PD100S. Solid rosewood sides and back and Solid Spruce top. Sounds like a lot more expensive guitar then what you pay for. Has tree of life abalone inlay going up the fret board which is something people usually love or hate.

i just checked out the alvarez gtr site again, and the md90 and 95 looks pretty nice and you can probabaly get it for ~$700. and it's solid rosewood back and sides too.

i need to check this out and compare to the martins.

i dont think it matters if theres no fret markers on the fretboard itself. they still have them on the top and unless your playing the guitar like lap steel or something it doesnt matter at all.

If you get a chance go to the Alvarez web site and find a dealer near you and give it a try. You will love the sound of it too. It is by far the best new guitar I have played in that price range.

I have and RD20SB. Well, Alvarez has it now, since the neck came unglued.

For a cheap guitar, it's pretty nice. Smells like glue though.

I use it as my 'kick-around' guitar - keep it on a stand, play it outside....it does the job. I am not sure I'd spend much more than that on an Alvarez...
