same here. mine start to wear down after a few months and then I loose them. I'm always switching picks though, so they stay fresh longer.

i usually use the tip of a knife to make a ton of little holes on my tortex picks so they have a little more grip to them.... the grippiness of the pinholes wears away after a few weeks but the only reason i ever really get new picks is because i lose them.

I love fender thin for most of my strumming...and I sometimes break one in a single sitting.

Since I switched to Dunlop Reds .50mm I go through them faster. But my picking accuracy has improved quite a bit with the thinner picks.

Yeah, I do the same thing, kinda. I don't have a knife here at school so I use my scissors. I just take the tip and dig into the pic where I hold it, usually in the center towards the bigger end. I usually make around 4-5 little holes. I used to just take a hole puncher and make a nice hole right in the middle but I don't have one of those at school.

I switched to the dunlop nylons. They don't wear out quickly, and have a sort of built-in grip.

Switch to Dunlop Tortex right now! :x
i used to go through fenders so quick :( i thought picks were SUPPOSED to break after a while and they came in such cool colors that i didn't want to try any other ones
but then i heard of dunlop and bought some of them because they were out of Thin fenders and i've never looked back.
the red ones (.50mm) are a great replacement for Thins and .60 for mediums. i've been playing with these for about a year now and i've yet to break ONE.

the only reason i ever have to buy new ones is because i keep loosing them 8)

Yeah those are what I have been using for a few months now, the .60mm ones. I really like them.

I picked 3+days.. because it depends on for what purpose I am using it.. I am just using them to strum like crazy (like I imagine most of you are doing when you says this answer as well..) they'll last me a lifetime. I have some picks from the first box of picks I bought.. still use them from time to time, because the ultra rounded off pick (from wear) has some utility.

But, if I am using a pick for some precise guitar solo with speed picking, etc. then a pick is dead (for that purpose) in a day, if I play a gig or a while practicing. Because, I need a real exacting point.
