Got a SansAmp Acoustic DI?

Unread post by Trippin Hillbilly » Tue Mar 09, 2004 6:29 am

Hey

Anyone got one of these? I just got it yesterday and i've been messing around with it. It's pretty damn cool, complicated but cool.

I'm still not getting the exact sound i'm looking for, so if you've come accross a nice acoustic sound then let me know the settings please.

cheers

I've been thinking about purchasing one myself, to run between my ovation and PA's/Amps. I never can decide if its worth the cash though. I really wish there was someplace local that I could play with one.

Holy crap...everyone needs to get one of these things!

It took me a while of fiddling but i finally got the sound i wanted.
It's sweet, i'd recommend it to anyone who plays live..

I'll post a clip pretty soon.

Yeah,

I've had mine for over a year now and I love the tone it brings especially since i'm only playing out of a 10 watt electric amp.

It'll be nice when I get a PA system and run it through some XLR cables

I was thinking of getting one to use during recording. Here's my setup:

Ibanez AEL20 -> Boss OC-2 -> Line6 DL4 -> Behringer Mixer -> Line-In
Ibanez AEL20 -> Shure SM57 -> Behringer Mixer -> Line-In

Would you think the DI box would be worth its price to get me a better, fuller tone during recording?

yes because you can convert your 1/4" stereo cable to an XLR which would make your tone a lot nicer.

i highly recommend one

Here's a cover I did with the DI box.. It's pretty damn sweet, have a listen to what the thing can do.

that cover is awesome...do you have a recording of your playing without the DI so that I can use it as a comparison? Also, what is your setup? Again...amazing work on that song...i think i like your version better then the Coldplay version...not a huge fan of that song..but yours - excellent!

I found a SansAmp Classic when I was working over the summer but have no idea what to do with it, is it similair to the one you guys are talking about, I have all this shit I got from work and have no idea what to do with any of it ( http://www.dmbtabs.com/boards/viewtopic ... work+today ). I havent even plugged my new taylor into an amp yet, I need to go home and get it and mess around with all the electronics I have. Think it would sound good through my old guitar amp, Fender Champion 110?

I didn't think it would be too easy for Live Performance use so I decided not to get it and opted for an Ibanez Chorus pedal, and I'm getting a Marshall ED1 Edward Compressor so that should suit me fine for what I need at the moment.
