Fender D series (i think)

Unread post by chosta » Wed Mar 24, 2004 4:27 pm

so i was jamming with one of my friends at this guitar shop on what i think was a D series Fender 12 string acoustic/electric. it was $189, and i felt it played awesome. it had a great sound - the only problems i can forsee are re-stringing it. anyhow - any of you own fender acoustics, or just 12-strings in general that feel like sharing some experience? i think i'm gonna pick it up when i get the cash. thanks

I take every gif I watch (which is A LOT) with a humongous grain of salt. But I don't let that grain of salt get into my eye and blind me to whatever truth can be found in what I'm watching. He is not any worse than any other poster here, and the people who claim he is just don't know what they're talking about. The demonization has gotten ridiculously out of hand.

I got a Fender DG-11E and its not too shabby. Nice bang for its buck, I bought it used about 2.5 years ago for $150. Sure it isn't perfect, I have to use a twisty to keep one of the tuners from making the G string buzz, but thats nothin big. Make sure the action is properly adjusted because I used to get a lot of buzz. About restringing, yeah, they can be a bastard at times. But still, a 12 string that sounds nice for $189 isn't a bad deal.

you get what you pay for... thats been my experience with my cheap 12 string. the bridge is pulling off of my $220 Ibanez and the truss rod is rock solid.
