are there any electric/acoustic guitars out there that sound just as good when they are unplugged compared to when they are plugged in?

by what do you mean acoustic/electric? all my acoustics can be electric because they all have pickups, however that is all they have, no preamps cut into the wood (a travesty in my opinion) and no cutaways (not a travesty but a waste for most people). the sound is unaffected yet can still be plugged in to amplify it. I would suggest just buying a normal acoustic (no cutaway or electronics built in) and having a pickup installed. I'm real into the L.R. Baggs I-Beam active right now...best acoustic tone I've heard by far in a pickup, however, it's prone to feed back so I've been tinkering with it as feedback busters don't do squat...chucayes wrote:are there any electric/acoustic guitars out there that sound just as good when they are unplugged compared to when they are plugged in?
