i saw a used hd28 made of morado instead of indian rosewood at a local shop listed for $1250. don't know anything about morado. the guitar looked to be in decent shape and was told it was probably a '92 or '93. sounded great even with somewhat beaten up strings. it had a pickup installed also.
anyone have any opinions as to whether or not this is a good deal?

Morado is a "rosewood" from south america. It is actually not a true Dalbergia (rosewood) but it looks and sounds like one. It is a very pretty wood and makes a nice tonewood It is also known as Bolivian Rosewood which comes from the region it grows, as it is mainly found in Boliva and Brazil. Bottom line is if it sounds good it sounds good!!
It does sound good. And thanks for the info on morado.
I just don't know how to place value on used guitars and didn't know anything about morado. I guess I should do some research on the internet on what some are going for.
Just wanted to get some opinions from here.
Thanks for your inputs!
