Who plays an Alvarez?

Unread post by Reckless » Fri Feb 20, 2004 8:04 pm

Looking to pay maybe around $300-$400 for one. I've heard good things about them but know nothing about their models. Anyone have a good suggestion in that price range?
I'm actually considering a D15, but testing the waters for something a little cheaper.

i paid $200 for my RD20S... its incredible for the money... i actually like it better than the D-15. solid spruce top, beautiful appearance.. it sounds amazing.

I have a PD-80sc that i paid $500 for, one of the best guitars i've played. Great tone, low action, amazing electronics(with a built in tuner), solid body and top, and its not bad to look at. Definately check out stuff in the professional series, the artist series has some beautiful ones as well.

I got one... its a AJ-60 cutaway electric. It looks and sounds pretty good but there is no truss rod on it to ajust the neck. Right now My low E string buzzes like a mother. Was a christmas gift so not sure one $$$. Pretty sturdy guitar, though. I wish it was a taylor 314 at least:(

You're going to have to try something else. The web site you linked to doesn't have a seperate URL for each guitar. :)

I have the RD20SB or something. For the price, you couldn't beat it. I tried many guitars in the 500 and under range, and that little 250 dollar gem beat them all, so I bought it.

Then the neck fell off.

The local shop sent it away to alvarez, I am still awaiting to hear something. They were sure I'd get a brand new one, it just takes forever.

Great guitars for the money, if the neck stays on. That is important, I am told.

Anyone that wants an Alvarez should go on ebay..this guy is selling AD60's, 70's and 80's at unbelievably low prices. Not sure about the warranty on them, but you could always email the guy and ask. Might be worth it if you really want an Alvarez.
