questions about the taylor 110

Unread post by JacknCoke » Sat Mar 20, 2004 2:18 am

Hey, looking into a new guitar and i was looking into this model..the 110 with electronics for a little over 600...I'm not trying to go for the gold here, i just want to upgrade from my * cough cough* 100 dollar carlo robelli...ive for two years since i started playing...anyways, is this a good deal and is the guitar quality good...I know taylors are extremely nice, but is it worth the money to go with this model...any help or people's reviews on this model would help a lottttttt..thanks

i tried it and it was alright, but if i ever got a taylor, i'd just wait and go high-end. you might try looking into a nice tak, or an alvarez. a lot of people here love the alvarez. or maybe even the d15, i liked it better than the 110

get an alvarez RD-20S - solid sitka top, sounds incredible, and is cheap. that way you can save up for a better Taylor.

400, I got a used 310 for a total of $650, and that was a pretty good deal, just don't hurry to buy one... I was looking for about 6-7 months before I actually threw down for it. It was actually quite random how it came about, the DMBtabs.com user ElGuitarrista PM'd me saying he was selling his, and since he lived about 2.5 hrs from me I went to his place and jammed a lil bit on it and bought it. It was a really cool experience.

JacknCoke... yeah, I sold my 310 to BigSpeen last summer. If I were you, I'd shop around and get a used 310 before dropping over $600 on a new 110... the 310 is much more guitar for the price difference. They come up on eBay now and then for sale in the $600s... the one I got had a slight cosmetic flaw (very, very minor)... and I got it for $650 (passed the deal onto BigSpeen since I have 5 guitars). I just saw this one last week on eBay... it was a few years old but seemed to be a decent deal (auction ended with Buy it Now)

Damn..thats the exact style body I want too....you guys keep pushing me towards the 310....i agree with ya HCHaikuWarrior, id love a 914 as well, but way to pricey for me...then again, it would last me probably a lifetime....looks like a 310 guys...the place i went to the other day was selling one for a little over 9, brand new....i see you guys always talking about buying used...but i duno, it may be a price difference, but I would like to know that I was the original owner...then again, if i get a deal i cant pass up, i just hope the schmoe took care of it...

Here's my reasoning, the 310 really isn't worth 900 bones. If you can get it used for mid 600's, then why not? The warranty? I don't think one is necessary if you're throwing down 650. Now, when you get your hands on a 914, the warranty might be a good idea
