yea, he said it was an archtop in an interview and explained the difference. Im not really sure what the huge differnece is either, but he does have that nice smooth tone-

Its not semi-hallow body, its all hallow, except for the eletronics of course inside. Thats why he can play a note for ages and it will never fade away. They say he has a certain technique to keep muting strings so they wont be held out at all, creating a big mess of ugly sound. You can hear on You Enjoy Myself when he does harmonics, they never go away until he stops them.
