Baritones
I am looking into buying a Baritone...I've checked out all the reviews on harmony central and just want to know what you guys think...
1) Fender Sub Sonic
2) Dano Baritones
3) OLP MM5 Baritone
I looked at the Jerry Jones Baritones, but I really don't feal like shelling out $800...
The Danos look to be about the best for me, I looked at the Fender, but I think its just an out of tune Strat...It's not even the same length as a baritone...
But anyways, let me know what you think...

Links...
Here are the links for those of you who needed them...
...lol
Danelectro Baritone
OLP MM5 Baritone Guitar
I had planned on spending the extra money for the Danelectro...The clips on the website sound pretty good...
I decided against the Fender considering it was too damn expensive...I saw the price for a used model that was damaged, not the list or even sale price...

if you had a regular guitar but bought baritone strings, would it sound like complete and utter ass or would it be ok to use until you got a barry?
Everybody always asks me how she's doing. Has she really lost her mind? I said "I couldn't tell you, I've lost mine."

Not only would it sound bad, but it would also be bad for the guitar.

I suggest a Dano. I'm biased because I own one
. They are cheap(got mine for 200 on ebay) and they sound great. Only thing I don't like is the binding cause it kinda looks flimsy. But you can't argue with the tone. A deep ballsy growl is the best way to describe the way these guitars sound and for the price you can't beat em.
Plus they look like dave's. The jerry jones he plays is a copy of a dano that is made using more expensive materials.

Or is the Dano a cheap copy of the Jerry Jones?michaelb14 wrote:Plus they look like dave's. The jerry jones he plays is a copy of a dano that is made using more expensive materials.
I've been looking at bari's too, and I think I'm gonna go with the OLP MM5. I've heard bad things about the dano guitars. But it might be just the one with built in effects that people didn't like.

Dano
I think the cheaper Dano with the effects are the ones you're thinking about...I've only heard good things about the standards though...

The Jerry Jones is a copy. Look at his website several of his guitars are copies of Dano's. Besides Danelectro came out with the baritone in the late 50's(they came up with the concept) so since they invented it I doubt that theirs is the copy. As to the thing about the effects I don't know about those bari's mine is just a standard with no effects.PilotC150 wrote:Or is the Dano a cheap copy of the Jerry Jones?michaelb14 wrote:Plus they look like dave's.
