hey guys, i recently bought a new guitar too and the guy at the center said it was frettin out a bit but and that a humidifier would fix it right up. The problem is that i have a bad case, cheap fake hard one, and i was just wondering how long it will take for my neck to turn back to normal and if i need a new case which i will be buyin very soon. thanks guys

Hey Freshy Fresh!

I have been dealing with the same problem. I would definitely advise getting a new case, and a good one at that. Whenever you are not playing your guitar, CASE IT!!! Also, I have been humidifying my guitar for 3 days, only taking out of the case about 3 hours a day, and it has recovered about 95%. I use a planet waves humidifier which was 12 bucks. I also have been putting a damp paper towel in my sound hole. Now damp means like 10 DROPS of water on well distributed. But DON'T set the paper towel directly down on the inside of your soundhole as you don't want any of the damp paper towel to touch the wood on your geeeeeeeytar!! I have heard you can also use a travel soap box, punch holes in the top of it and put a small wet or damp spong inside the box. Whatever you do just don't let the NE water come in contact with NE part of your guitar, for "obvious" reasons. Hope this helps Bro?? Ohhh and make sure your heat in your abode doesn't go hotter than 70 degrees(F). Try to keep your thermostat right at 70. If your cold where a snowmobile suit with moon boots preferably....lol
Peace

That is the best thing I've done regarding humidity. They work 100% better than any store bought item, and cost about 5 bucks total.

It could take a couple weeks if things are really bad. Mine starting acting up right after a setup, when it got really cold. Once I humidified it for a week steady, it began to sound and play much better.

so are u sayin i shouldnt play it and just see if it works? cause i had it in my case for like 14 hours straight with humidifier and went to play it today and it alomst seemed worse. It is just the frets from 3-about 12. The rest are fine. And when i look at the neck it looks pretty straight so i dont think there is any warping.
thanks
