High Gloss repair
I have a question...
If there is a small crack in the finish of the guitar (ie. jsut the high gloss and not the wood itself) how easy/hard or expensive/inexspensive would it be to get it reapired?
Thanks for any help,

I don't think there's really anything you can do, at least not if the crack is substantial. But it's not a big deal at all. It in no way affects the sound of a guitar. I've a fairly large finish crack on the top of my 714ce and took it in to a guitar shop to see what, if anything, could/should be done. The luthiere said nothing really. He said I could take a SMALL drop of lemon juice (or something like that) and wipe up and down the crack with it occasionally. Really though, there isn't much that you can do, and there isn't anything that you need to do. At least, not that I know of.

I know it doesn't hurt the sound. It just hurts the eyes so I was wondering if I could have it fixed up. I just don't like to see my baby with a boo booticohans wrote:I don't think there's really anything you can do, at least not if the crack is substantial. But it's not a big deal at all. them's war scars. adds character.
or something like that.
I remember the first time I got a bad ding in the finish on my 714ce. I was pissed. But then I got another one, and another, and another. Finally I said, aww, hell with it, I'm playing the darn thing, not looking at it. Who gives if it's got a few dings, dents, and scratches. It's not like I'm going to sell it or anything.
