Guitar pick up problem
Guitar pick up problem
I have a ibanez AEQ40(i think) acoustic electric with fishman electronics....i didnt get an amp until after the warrenty expired. when i plugged in i got a hissing scratchy sound like when the TV recption is bad, when i palyed it. the 9volt battery in is is good. the washers are tight and i dont know what to do. My friend who knows a lil about guitars took a look at time, and when he messed with the cords inside and some times it would get better, but it would never stay....should i try and fix it myself, take it to a pro, or should i just forget it and buy a new pick up to put in it... please help....its annoying me....thanks
if your friend can make the noises stop by fiddling with the cords inside, then it is merely a contact problem. i bet the battery isn't being grounded properly. this is a simple problem.Twostep13 wrote:sorry, i just thought i would get better responces here....ill look better next time for the appropriate place next time i post
temporary fix ==> tape the chords down inside your guitar so they don't move around so much.
better fix==> bring it to a tech and explain everything about how you friend got it to work. they should be able to fix it, but it might cost you.
absolutely unnecessary fix ==> replace it. ha. that's way bad idea. you won't garrantee that you don't have the same problems and you have to spend 100's of dollars.
my conclusion ==> bring it to the tech..
