all i really have to say about it is that it was a little quick......but other than that it was great.

actually...i listened to some of your others, and you really gotta work on your pace. that's all. just play along with dave for a little. its almost TOO quick. i mean it works, but IMO i think it wouold sound quite a bit better if it was slower.

I agree with Mikey...good job all around, but you really need to slow it down. This applies to all of the songs you have posted on your page.

I love the way you did the chorus on that, you've got really good rhythm man. You do play his songs a little faster but you know what? If you could discover your own vocal style and get it in pace with your playing you'd have some pretty damn stylized covers. Keep working at it man cause you've definitely got something imo. :)

One last comment to reiterate, your playing is fantastic especially if you've only been playing for 8-9 months!

I've been playing longer than that and still can't get the strumming to sound right on SMTS. Are you doing up and down strokes muted and then to the slide?

That was really good, vocals were on and guitar was excellent. I've been playing for 6 years, and I don't know if I can play that song that well. I've never heard anyone who'se only been playing for 8 months that can play that well.
I'll play it first and tell you what it is later.

To answer yer question JC about SMTS, exactly what u said! Because I *try* to perfect Daves stuff I feel i've picked up his style, which I guess makes sense. I've found out, its almost all about muting and rhythm while keeping the strumming hand almost always moving, all u gotta is press and the sound will be there. Just get a steady motion going with the strum. GOD... I wish I could explain it better...
Thnx JC and all of you guys, your input is greatly appreciated. I think im going to slow all these songs down... :)

How can you palm mute on SMTS though????????? You have to do a slide on the 4th to 5th fret. Hmm, I'm gonna have to mess around with this style. In my own playing style I like to do what I call "percussion breaks" since I don't have a drummer I'll hit some dead strings to make a beat. This is kind of taking that further cause Dave, and you as well Mave (heh heh) do both at the same time. Pretty cool stuff man :)

thnx man. i dont think its palm muting what i do, i just let off of the frets and strum the strings as you say "dead". try focusing at that set of strings that you strum at the point in time, pin point while muting the others to get that full rhythmic sound.

seriously for less than a year of playing thats pretty amazing...especially for you to be able to sing and play the guitar that well...it's almost like I have a hard time believing that you've only been playing that long...this cover sounds like Howie Day's voice IMO, which is definitely a compliment...shit, just think what you'll sound like after 5 years of playing...so how old are you anyway?
