I drink water but I've heard that tea is good for the voice. I tend to get massive lugis when I drink tea, though, so I haven't tried it.
What about you?

I have always had some type of beer before I go on...while on stage it's mostly water, but when the drinks are on the house it's a bottle of wine.

Drinking alcohol before singing? That doesn't sound helpful, but I drink tea usually when I sing, or soda or whatever I have around. I've never drank beer before I sang though, maybe cause I'm only 16.........

soda isn't the way to go, pretty sure water or tea would be the best to try

I have always had a problem with tea before gigs....always seem to cause a lot of phlegm (spelling??). Water is the basic sure-fire liquid it seems.

caffeine in any form is not good for your voice. It constricts your vocal chords. Similar deal with alcohol.
Lemon and honey. Because mommy said so.

I used to drink this tea called "throat coat" when I was singing in front of people for really long amounts of time. It's straight up herbal, so no caffeine to mess with your vox chords. It's awesome. You should be able to pick it up at pretty much any grocery store. I think it's made by a company called "Natural Remedies". Either that or "Refresh" mint tea by Tazo. Good stuff.
