Ranting about covers..

Unread post by geekmug » Thu Jan 29, 2004 12:45 pm

Can we start a subject naming scheme like tagging on "(NV)" for covers with no vocals? I seem to remember people putting "Instrumental" or something of the likes, this needs to start happening again.

And this is a rant, because I don't want to listen another incomplete cover.. And, so I have had to just stop because I don't have the time in the day to listen to every one of the covers posted, but I want to give feedback to the people that have put a lot of effort into what they post.

But so my point is that you can't cover a dave song and just not sing.. there is nothing going on without the vocals.. I'm sorry.

yeah.

NV or I for no vocals/instrumental. i think no vocals would work best for songs that originally had vocals but are recorded without for various reasons. the #41 guitar part alone is more of an instrumental. there's a definite difference, just hard to describe.

C for short clip. testing, whatever, etc.

GP for group project, but we haven't had one of those in a while.

i can't think of anything else.

also, people need to stop whining about "such and such views and no replies." the number of views has no indication whatsoever as to whether or not people are wasting you're bandwidth. i know i check multiple times to see if there are any replies i haven't read, and sometimes i just don't remember if i've replied or not. if people are courteous enough to leave comments, then they're the greater ones, but don't rag on people if they just come in to read, because i know that's what some people do.

/end rant.

yeah, I had 130 views and only two people critiqued it, but I moved on. If people don't wanna listen to it I'm not gonna make em
