some devil cover

Unread post by themaker » Sun Jan 18, 2004 2:11 pm

hey guys check out my cover of some devil. before anything else, i'd like to say that once again, i ended up trying to sing like dave. i think it's really a difficult song to sing; i find myself always short of breath (it''s gotta be the cigs). anyway, any comment on how i can improve the song would be appreciated, specially tips on singing to ure own style. thanks and peace :)

Hey that was pretty good. Guitar playing was great, and recording quality was very good. Your voice ended up like you were trying to sound like dave, but for the most part it sounded alright. It did sound like you were short of breath at times, and the falsettos were a bit weak. I'd say if you tried to incorporate your own sound and practiced this tune a bit more it could be quite good.

I thought you did a very respectable job with this tune. That chorus is so hard to sing and I thought you did rather well. It wasn't the least bit painful to listen to. Nice recording. For that song, I would recommend maybe a little more reverb. Good job, all in all. Thanks for posting it - I've been wanting to hear what others come up with for this song.

Be excellent to one another.

thanks guys :) singing the falsetto part was pretty tough. the chorus is so

high, i felt that the only way i could sing on key was to soften my voice a little

bit. i've tried singing it with a bit more force, but i ended up sounding like a

dying goat

but i'd probably just try to sing it on a lower key, just so i could use my

natural voice.

wow. thats really all i can say. i was waiting to cringe when you got to the chorus because i didn't think many people could pull it off, but you did it wonderfully :D pretty cool to hear it on an acoustic too, it was honestly one of the best covers i've heard on these boards so far :)
