My first recording--Ants Marching

I know this isn't even close to sounding like some of yours. I just wanted to see what everyone thinks. Its not perfect (i messed up the Candyman part and missed a line in the first verse) but i havent been playing for very long.

well...the guitar sounded really good, but you're singing didn't seem to be on key or really be on the rhythm of the song the whole time....however, it didn't sound like you were having trouble keeping rhythm with singing and playing, it sounded like the most problem was just not being as familiar as a lot of people with the song...i'd listen to a couple D & T versions and play along with them then record again and you'll be damn near dead on....good job for a first recording

Thanks for the advice. Yea, i do have to work on the knowing the words. But my biggest problem is being on key. I think i should take singing lessons... what do you think? I think my voice could use some work.

Hey thanks, I'm glad u think its mostly just knowing the song. At least thats easier to fix than my voice. Although, I'm still not satisfied w/ my voice. O well.

HOLY SHIT...that was the funniest thing I've ever heard in my life!!! Why didn't you just stop and re-record it if you knew you messed up more than once?? I'm not trying to come down on you or anything, all of us musicians were a beginner once. At least you have confidence to share what you do, which can only help you to become a better guitarist/singer. Good luck :wink:

LOL....geez guys calm your asses down!! I am a musician ok...I was just being honest to him...I never onced put him down. I would want someone to be honest with me, and I don't think I would be as far off as I am now if it weren't for that. I'm not trying to start any beef with anyone so get off my case. I was just really confused on why he posted it if he thought it was terrible and that he messed up a few times. That's all...damn!!!
And, Matty "big man" Boom Boom....if you even tried to lay a finger on me you'd be beat the fuck down so don't start talking shit to anyone. Like I said I'm not trying to start anything...you guys talk about honesty and all...well, I'm fucking honest....how wrong is that!!??

for someone who hasn't been playing very long and got the balls to post something up, i think that was probably the most disrespectful thing you could have said...there's honesty, respect, and constuctive criticism that should all be at work in this forum...yours lacked respect
