Ain't It Funny ( How Time Slips Away )

Unread post by DustyDave » Mon Nov 24, 2003 11:58 pm

So here i am , sick as a dog with the flu :( and haven't sleept for 24 hours , which sucks , i hate being sick , so anyway i decided that since i couldn't sleep anyway , i might as well try and do a cover , alot of people have asked for me to do one b4 ....

There is a couple errors i was too lazy to fix , sorry about that people , at 1:38 i missed a note or muted it or something , and near the end you can hear my tv is on , i think it was Ricky Lake lol , a word of advice for all the recorders out there , turn your tv off when you record a song ;)

Sorry about the voice in advance , it ain't easy to sing while being sick ya know :( but i think its pretty much on key , i haven't listened to it completely myself , im like Dave , record it and then stop listening

Anyway the cover features 2 guitar tracks and 1 vocal track

Critiques are more than welcome

what a nice surprise!

Just finished listening....anyway, the guitar sounded really good...great quality of guitar...good playing...I liked the 2nd guitar addition....singing was good...it was on key for sure....maybe it sounded like you were holding back because you were sick...I definitely enjoyed listening to this one.

Thanks brother , and yeah im very sick , we got this chinese flu here in Denmark right now , that they are expecting around 3000 people to die from during December :( But its the weaker people that are in danger , and the flu shot doesn't work on this flu , i haven't gotten the flu shot anyway lol what a waste of money ....

I might as well post the setup while im here in case others ask

The guitar is an old Memphis CD300CE , they don't produce those anymore and i paid around 500$ for it , maybe a little less , its plugged directly into the soundcards mic input , and the microphone used for the vocals is a cheap creative standard computer mic , 5$ i think lol , oh and the strings were about to be replaced , i just put on new ones now after finishing the cover , i should have done it b4 maybe lol , anyway screw that i hope you enjoy

great guitar. great sense of rythm and great control. the two tracks mixed very well.

you're voice isn't bad, you just need to let go a little, you sound like you're holding back WAY too much like you're afraid to sing. you're on key for 95% of the time but you're way too quiet. that may have something to do w/ the mix but it mostly sounds like you're afraid to belt it out. let it go man, you have a good voice.

there's also an awful ring in the track, but i can't really complain about quality cause mine's horrible too.

great job overall, w/ this many few replies i thought it would be awful, but i enjoyed it a lot. awesome guitar, good vocals, just let go a little and you'll be fine. Great job...MORE PEOPLE NEED TO LISTEN TO THIS AND RESPOND, ITS GOOD WORK.

Thanks Appsy

The ring you hear in the background is probably from my Pickup , i have absolutely no clue why it does it , but when its hooked up to the soundcard it gives that ring , on a closer note , i think it comes from the adapter that im using to plug into the soundcard , it is not fitting properly for some reason , and the jack has always been a little curved , so i might try go buy a new one and see if that fixes my problem :)

Thanks for the nice critiques and feedback , its greatly appreciated :)
