Watchtower with Live@LS intro

Unread post by borocks » Wed Nov 12, 2003 4:23 pm

I've done Watchtower too today.

I've added that nice little picking intro that Dave did at Listener Supported at the beginning. I nomally suck at fingerpicking stuff... that's kinda the best I could make out of it.

Check it out and give me a short review. Thanx, Boris

Good job, Bo. Since this is a critique forum, at times I think you try to do too much with your voice. It's hard to explain... it might be due to your accent. It doesn't sound bad, just at some points it seems you could just end a note and not play around with it.
It sounds like you were really into it (especially toward the end), which is really good to see. You hit several high notes well. The guitar was good. For some reason in the beginning the F's seemed a little out of tune but for the rest of song it didn't. Weird?
A final tidbit - at the end, I think it sounds better if you quickly mute the F after "excited."
Sorry for being so anal. Thanks for posting, good job.

Yeah, I noticed the opening F's too. As for the singing - I think it's the th's. Euro's give it a 'd' sound. Guitar was great. Nice job. I listened to a bunch o' your stuff - impressed me a lot. Keep it up.

pretty damn good, bud...sounds pretty good on the guitar without a doubt and the vocals were all on key, but if you're going to go intense, go intense!! when you sing an intense song like this, make us believe baby! do you get what i'm saying? if not, i'll elaborate for you. you do great work with this stuff, but if you can take it to that next level and make me believe what you're singing (and i realize it's hard with english being your second language), then you're there. and if you're up for a challenge, you can do it. i'd like to hear another cover of this if you think you get my drift. keep it up!!
B+P by offer only...thank you

Hey thank you all dudes, really helpful comments so far. I appreciate that.
Yeah, I know that there are still some probs with my English I know that, but it is very hard actually to improve if you never hear it spoken. I hear it when I listen to the songs but I never hear people talking English, so that makes it kinda hard. That's why I have to "copy" Dave's way to sing, cuz I cannot do my own...

As for the F's. They were all in tune I think. What you guys might heard were some string which didn't ring properly cuz of that barré fingering... Could be that.

Thank you all so far!
