LIOG Cover

Unread post by Roastbeef » Thu Jul 24, 2003 8:27 pm

Well, since it looks like the newbie cover contest was scrapped, I figure I'll post my LIOG cover anyway:

Disclaimer: I did this one with a nasty head cold so the vocals sound a bit 'nasally'. Lemme know what you think!

thats awesome...great vocals, excellent guitar. i like the layering especially the first solo...(still listening)the middle jam is pretty good. ouch ur voice was cracking a bit in the end but the guitar stayed strong. great job overall!

I was very impressed with the solos and stuff during every instrumental section of the song...very good with the bends/slides/and everything. you could have hit the volume a little with them, but i could hear the quality. great job.. it reminds me of my jam section I did of this song... http://artists.iuma.com/site-bin/streammp3.m3u?410227

Great job man!

Only somewhat critical advice I have is see if you can turn up the volume a little during the jam. Let us hear those amazing and beautiful improv riffs in there, they are great, but I'd like to hear them a little more.

Other than that, great great job, great quality and everything

:!: :!: :!:

Wow! Thanks guys. Never really been much of a lead guitar player so I wasn't expecting people to dig the jams much.

Anyway, I'll probably redo the vocals track now that I can breath  and remix it a bit making the improv track louder.

Thanks for all the kind words!

Hey Roastbeef - That sounded great. You're improv is much better than mine, and our singing doesn't even compare (even if you did have a cold)... mine is awful. Instead of creating a new topic, i'll put a link to mine here as well. I'd love any criticisim people have. This is the first time i've ever recorded anything.

I'd go ahead and start a new topic if I were you...not as many people will see it here.

And RB, great job on the cover. I liked your improv a lot, and your vocals seem to be getting better everytime you post something, cold or no cold. And you were gonna put this in the newbie cover contest. HA :!: Nice try sandbagger. :) (Thats a compliment.)

Thanks guys! Well, I went ahead and remixed this with a new vocal track. They aren't much better but it at least it doesn't sound like my nose is plugged. I also upped the volume on the improv track and ditched the funky reverb the original had. Lemme know what you think:

Thanks all!
