Free Professional Recording of Your Single, Ep Or Album

Unread post by Cartelstudios » Sat Oct 02, 2010 11:45 pm

Criminal Records has launched their very own Recording Studio, Cartel Studios and to celebrate, one lucky act will be recording their music for free!

Cartel is a one stop shop comprising of a recording studio, rehearsal facilities, accommodation for out of town acts to stay in, as well as video production and CD duplication.

The in-house team have worked with a large number of high profile bands and artists, including Iron Maiden, Alice Cooper, Mark Ronson (Level 42), James Blunt, Das Pop, The Magic Numbers, Florence and The Machine, Keane, Graham Coxon, Hard Fi, Boy Kill Boy, The Rakes, Lucky Soul, The Rocks, Maximo Park, Bluetones, Mark Morrison, Do Me Bad Things, KT Tunstal, Infadels, The Young Knives, Towers Of London, The Yardbirds, Antony and The Johnsons, Nate James, Cyndi Lauper, Tricky (from Massive Attack), The Pretty Things, Fat Boy Slim and a number of label acts including indie pop trio, Fuzz Valentine and experimental grunge pop band, Argonaut.

Other services at Cartel include a range of 10 week courses and private lessons that can be arranged by Skype for those who are not within traveling distance from the London location. Teachers include accomplished Speech Level Singing Coach, Natalie Hughes, as taught at LIPA and with recent appearances on Channel 4 and BBC Radio 2, as well as Graham Silbiger, who has recorded major releases with highly acclaimed acts including Soul II Soul, The JBs Horns and George Michael. A&R workshops are also available for help with tracks before recording takes place, while Cartel Video has just shot the new ‘Closure’ video for The Kut as well as Xmas release ‘Anarchy In The UK’ by RocketClover.

Any act booking two or more days in the studio will be eligible for the money back competition, although the prize could pay for up to two weeks of recording as seen in the ’14 day Delux Album Package’. At the end of the six month period, one lucky act will win their money back, as well as a PR package with Criminal PR and the option to release their recorded music through Criminal Records. Although recording at Cartel Studios is already competitively priced with recording from £135 per day, it is expected that this extra incentive will bring quality bands to the labels doorstep.
