i like this one a lot zach. i can relate a lot to that "do you wonder how i've been" line. i wrote a song not too long ago (that i eventually scrapped) with a similar theme as this one. i had a line in there that was actually similar, but i can't recall the exact words. i've always liked your melodies in your originals as well - verse melodies are something i almost have to wrestle with to produce something i like, but it seems as though you have a knack for it (that one you posted a while ago..."<--- ---> saint peter marched"... i loved that)

i'd like to hear a better recording of some of your originals. perhaps with a mic instead of direct in? do you have any recorded like that?
