It's been a while - here's a full band original

Rather than having you guys download it, just go to http://www.theprojectboston.com/home

I'd like to know what you think. Its from one of our recent shows and my buddy mixed in crowd noise for comedic effect. The vocals sit back in the mix, but the heart of the song is the instrumental progression 3/4 of the way through.

It's called "Commercial"

Let me know what you think.

No problem man. I really enjoy the stuff you write. I just posted an original. Id appreciate it if you could give it a listen and give me your thoughts. Especially on how to improve vocally, I think you have an awesome voice, I would love some help there.

thanks man - its got a weird funk vibe to it. the drum and bass presence in the music have really improved drastically over the last year.

thank you thank you man. i have man - finding decent musicians at boston college is tough, but we're going to start heading into berklee territory. we'd love some funk horns, a hammond b3 player, and possibly some more vocalists.

thanks so much - we're taking a break this summer and coming back to wellfleet in august (beachcomber). then we'll be hitting bill's bar and harpers in the fall - hate to sound lame, but the best way to keep posted is to check out the website.

hey Andrew-
just listening to your solo album "imagine yourself"... curious about how you recorded it? did you record guitar and vox seperately? did you mic the guitar or use the pickups? i love the sound and am trying to figure out how i want to record my own album.

For the solo stuff, I used a condenser mic (M-Audio Nova) to record separate tracks for guitar and vocals. I layered them on one another.

For the horn on the few tracks, i used an sm-57. I used garageband and there are virtually no effects. If I were to do the same thing now (this was recorded 4 years ago when I was 18), I'm sure I would use better software/mic technique haha.
