Full band original (FruityLoops!)

Unread post by borocks » Wed Apr 16, 2008 3:20 pm

Hey everybody

For my latest recording, I wanted to have a full band song, but since I'm more of a one-man band at the moment, I used Fruity Loops to replace my band buddies!

With the aid of FL, I put together a real drum set to generate the drums track and used the boo bass plugin to generate the basslines! So these parts of the song are entirely computer-generated! The result is not that bad, as far as I can tell. It doesn't sound too 'stiff', I think.
the guitar and the vocals are organic, obviously. ;)

Have a listen and tell me what you think:

I'd be very interested in your overall impression of the song. Any feedback would be greatly appreicated! thanx, Bo

very nice man, love the vibe, and i was really impressed with your use of the drum loops (obviously a live drummer would be better, but this sounds really high production)... and i really dig the end at 3:15... it reminds me of Fix You by Coldplay, just b/c of the dynamics, and i LOVE that. vocals are great and appropriate for the song. for the chorus and end, i would lower the volume on the deeper backing vocal track. it should be faint... and maybe add some more reverb for effect. those are just production notes though... the song and vocals and guitar are great.
