I played at Newport Blues Cafe over my vacation and I got a few videos that need reviewing.
Last Request
http://youtube.com/watch?v=Qw-R5uvRJ7I
And....another Midnight Rider
http://youtube.com/watch?v=2UVwcRZBF94&feature=related
I have a few more videos to put up including two originals (Not the one about the slaves i wrote in the form of DDTW

)
I was just getting over a throat issue I was having. 3 days before the show I had swollen tonsils and it stopped my singing dead in its tracks. So I got some antibiotics and just stopped singing. I think that my voice was almost 100% that day.
Thanks
Jack

I like Wild Horses, you actually sing it with power. I would reign in the delay though, its dangerously close to crossing the line to where its distracts from your voice instead of enhancing it.
Do I listen to pop music because I'm miserable or am I miserable because I listen to pop music?

It's amazing how much you try to emulate Dave. You're good, but cripes

I really don't try to emulate Dave at all. My voice has changed dramatically from the first post I made on here about a year ago. Back then I will say I was all about Dave Matthews and dancing his dance. But I have had so many gigs lately I have really developed my own personality on stage. The Dave Matthews cover kid has really faded and I'm more about originals and songs that vocally fit my voice better. When I start playing I get into a zone and just stay there. I let the music do what it does to me and just try to have a good time with it. I don't think its bad I have some Dave Matthews in my style. I would say I have a lot of other musicians styles in me as well. I want to say I'll try to change that, but I'm gonna do whatever the music makes me do. (I hope that explaination made any sense.

)
Thank you for the kind words.
Jack

there's definitely too much dave emulation going on... both in your actions and in your voice

You kind of look like a baby Tim Tebow
I like the WIld Horses, but I think the beauty of that song lies in its subtlety. I would try not strumming away at the chords and toning it down a little.
You have a good voice man, but the little Dave dance/bounce at the beginning of Midnight Rider was laughable, anyone who has seen DMB live knows what you were doing right there.

I have to agree again with the "Dave" emulation going on. My opinion....you are very talented and quite a handsome young man. Be yourself, make it your own, and I am sure you will do fine.
I do have to admit, you have really have the moves down right down to the facial expressions. That is quite impressive.

Yes, I did say that but then again I wear very thick glasses

. Just don't let it go to your head.
