Couple songs for critical review

Unread post by Seiesnalli » Sun Jan 13, 2008 4:15 am

Don't know a lot about recording, just learning the ropes. Have a wonderful guitar, MXL990 mic, just curious what suggestions you all might be able throw my way to get a better sound I am currently getting.

Here's a couple songs of mine that I've done recently. As Real As Death is one I wrote just wrote last night, so I'm still working out the kinks. These are all scratch tracks though, simply a way to get my music down.

AA3.0 is my beast of choice, btw.

I'll be honest, I don't know jack about recording, but I enjoyed "As Real As Death", especially the guitar. Also, your voice reminds me a lot of someone... but I can't quite put my finger on who. Regardless, nice job!

very John Mayer like.. these are awesome though dude.. they definitely make it on my mp3 player.. a few wrong notes in your skat ending of.. as real as death but they're both really well written songs. your lyrics really play well to your vocal melodies.

I really dig it man. Little rough around the edges, but clean it up and you've really got something

Wow you sounds so much like Ben Gibbard. Really dig the tunes.

Yeah, they're certainly rough drafts, errors and all but they contain all the material I plan to be in the final drafts...

Any tips on recording and such would still be utterly helpful...

I might post a couple of my other things. Lemme poke around my archive and see what I can scrounge up.

yeah... if u like ciara , there is a compilation series you should check out called "Euro Club Hits" --

it's pretty clear that dance music is coming back around the world -- just check the recent big American hip-hop and R&B hits which are clear rip-offs of the european dance style.....

here's the direct iTunes link to the "Euro Club Hits" series.....
