The Fly (youtube cover)
The Fly (youtube cover)
I covered the fly because no one else that I could find has. Also I like the song personally. I only played about half of the song since dave just repeats himself in the second verse. Instead I decided to go loop crazy (didn't see that one coming). Enjoy

Hey, I really liked this. I've never heard the original, but I like how you made this sound. I don't really like that chorus or whatever, but that's Dave's fault. What looping station are you using? I've got the Boss RC-20 and I'm not sure if there's a way if I can loop a vocal mic with it - do you know if that's possible? I've got a performance coming up that I'd like to try it at.
But yeah, I liked this. Post more.

Wow, awesome cover! Absolutely beautiful, great voice... the loop really added a dimension to the song as well

Re: The Fly (youtube cover)
haha funny you ask. This christmas I acquired the two pedals needed to loop vocals through the RC-20 and have it not sound like crap. You can plug a mic into the the back right next to the INST. It should say "MIC INST". On the face you should see a dial to the top right that has "MIC" above it. This controls the volume. Now if you go to a radio shack you should be able to find a little thing that converts 3 prong mic cables to 1/4 inch jacks (since the mic is phantom powered, you need this little converter piece or your mic will be quiet as all hell). The problem with plugging a mic straight in is that it has zero equalization and sounds muddy (at least my SM58 does). So I bought an LS-2 line selector so I can choose to sing through the loop station or to just send the mic straight to the PA or the amp or whatever youre mixing everything through. Then I bought a GE-7 equalizer to bring the high's out in my mic and make it more crisp sounding. I know it sounds complicated but once you get it set up on a pedal board, its so painless and easy to use. I wish I could afford a board like that. I had that Loop station for about two weeks and had to return it because I needed money. I really want to start putting money towards a pedal board, just cant seem to save enough.
