Umm.... Your trying to hard especially on the high notes. Your trying to make them too colorful. Keep it simple for now. And work on your ununsiation. Keep workin though I can here you nailing this song in the future.

Oh and nice guitar work :D.

Yea just keep it simple. People like covers. If they don't like you there I suggest you move one though. Once people see you in the bad light their critisism tends to be influenced on past experiences of you. So instead of noticing you getting better chances are they'll just think oh, It's this kid. If you know what I'm tring to say. you may show up at a later time to where the memory has faded or you dramatically got better. But I say go for it it's worth the experience. Just don't ever get discouredged and quit. That's what seperates people with passion and the people who just want quick gratification.

I took a listen to it. I agree with mbent about the high notes. Your voice is definitely in the right range to sing this song (mine isnt and im jealous  ). With a little more practice i bet you could nail this song. The part you need to work on is the "I wanted to stay, I wanted to play, I wanted to love you..." part. Thats pretty much impossible for me to sing but i have confidence that you can get it. If you want to play for the people, play for em. I jumped into the whole open mic thing when i was 13 and im still scared as hell sometimes (im 17 now). But once you get up there and stretch your voice around, youll find your comfort zone on stage. At least that how it is for me. Id work a little bit more on the song before "unleashing" it. Like mbent said, people can become bias. Ive gone to more different open mics over the years than i can count and its been good for my psyche.

with practice...

This won't be bad...with work on those higher notes.. maybe a lil more emotion.. I hear you waiting for the guitar somtimes, is somebody else playing?

If you're a tenor, don't go into your falsetto, get into your higher range and belt it out.... If you're going to sing the high notes in falsetto you have to nail it as that's what's going to grab peoples ear....

To practice and get better at those notes, sing the whole chorus/refrain whatever the F it is, all in your falsetto/or your higher tenor range.... doing that you wont be afraid to enter that ranger and in turn get more comfortable with it...

peace
