jkanter's version of captain cut and pasted just as it is on the site, and then mine, which I feel is much more accurate...check them out and tell me which one's more accurate...

I used to play Captain based on the Lillywhite session. My version was different than both of these.

I don't like the Busted Stuff version with the electric so I kinda strayed away from the song since. The Lillywhite Captain is so much better.
peace,
Ken

Accurate in what way? Are you contending that Dave plays it your way, or that your way sounds better, or ...?
Just curious.

I'm not 100% positive at all dave plays it my way except for the verse, but my way is certainly more accurate than what you have, just listen...there's no way on earth that some of those chords are right, the 8769XX for one thing couldn't possibly include the 8, the 4665XX part as well doesn't work at all, he's playing an A, not an Ab, just play the two and listen to what he's doing and it's pretty obvious, and I'm not trying to bash, I just know for certain that there are significant problems with that tab.

this is a C chord 8769XX but the 6 should be a 5 (probably a typo)
I thought he did play an Ab to end the verse, and go into the next part. At least he did on the Lillywhite version. Are they the same on both???

I tried it with a 5 first thinking it was a typo and it still doesn't sound right, I'm pretty sure it's an E chord

I got a new video of Dave playing Captain. He def plays it different now than I had it for captain. The last chord is an E-chord. The tab I have up IS tabbed from a video but it is kinda far away and not easy to figure out. I will take a look at them all and put up different tabs for both songs which should be updated and make them better..peace

I just listened to the lilly version and it doesn't sound like an Ab at all but an A in the oh well it seems part...and the C is definitely an E

sweet, sounds good, btw, where'd you get the video and what show? and I think the 4X675 may be a typo, it sounds more accurate either 4665XX or if he's playing notes on the B-string, 4X657X

come on gcom, its not a big deal - there's no need for the attitude. I never even voted for whos was better because I think the idea is ridiculous. but that's just my opinion, I'm not bashing.
peace,
Ken
