The die-hards will like this one...

Hope you appreciate the piano- maybe they'll let me have Peter Griesar's spot...

The hammer-on from the C# to the D really clashes with the piano (take the piano up two octaves instead of using it as a bass staccatto right there; that will allow the riff to 'cap off', so to speak, giving you a sum of what came before instead of a 'falling apart', which is what it does now), and not in an appealing dissonance sort-of-way.

Other than that, pretty as hell, and I love pretty piano pieces (wish I'd taken more than 9 years; time to bust my keyboard out again).

As far as Thang, which I just listened to again . . . well played, well-written, but there's a bad habit (understandably) on fan boards such as this (and I am a Dave fan) of trying to "write the songs [said artist] would have written if he'd thought of it".

Just sit down, put some chords together, and write a damn song. What comes out will be the sum of your practice and (hopefully) listening to every damn piece of music you come across that has some soul and effort behind it.

With that in mind, go listen to Bjork.
Stay with me, safe and ignorant.

Used to listen to bjork, then stopped smoking weed...

Thang isn't the only song I've written, lol.. It's just the only one that sounds like a dave song, so I figured these boards would appreciate it. Oddly, if I were to post it on a forum that wasn't specifically dave, I would never hear feedback saying it's too much like dave. Perhaps I should show you a song that's NOT dave'ish if I wanted to 'impress' you. But I really don't; just enjoy it for what it is...

The 'jimithanged' was played and recorded in like, 20 minutes last night. Took longer to upload it. C#? I don't play a C# chord. What you're hearing is a bad recording, where the two tracks get off of one another. Sorry, I haven't paid that much attention to it, honestly.

Yeah, i liked it too.

I just guess the entrance of the guitar wasn't very smooth. But that's just me though.

Thanks! Hope you enjoyed it.

I'm buying a condenser mic monday. Hopefully I'll be able to do some original stuff soon.
