Kings and Saints (REDONE)
Kings and Saints (REDONE)
A new song of mine. I just got new recording hardware. A USB interface! so the quality is better. Anyways its not finished but take a look and critique.

EDIT:
Hi again. I redid this loopy song with garage band so the loops are much more precise. The quality is better and i changed the ending. Tell me what you think? Just use the link above.
Thanks again

yea Great job on that. What is your petal set up? What kind of delay/other effects are you using on your voice? thanksBanjobach wrote:haha that is all done in one take. I played it for my highschool graduation just like that. And sorry about myspace, it takes them forever to upload the songs into their database.
oh irony
haha this is ironic in that i made a thread about that song a while ago and pretty much no one listened to it. http://www.dmbtabs.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=29558
Anywhoo my set up is as follows: Boss RC-20 (yeah one of the vintage ones!) DD-20 giga delay with external tempo switch. Those are for my guitar. For my vocals i just run my mic through a dd-6. Im sort of a delay fanatic. Im glad to hear you guys like it but tell me what you think of my new song please.

Re: oh irony
Thanks, Im in the market for a DD-20 giga right now, they look so badass. I have been trying to find a good deal on one, but I probably will end up buying one brand new. How do you like yours?Banjobach wrote:haha this is ironic in that i made a thread about that song a while ago and pretty much no one listened to it. http://www.dmbtabs.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=29558

EDIT - amaaaaazing knock on wood cover man..
ok finally,
this song is rather sweet if i do say so myself. instrumentals awesome as always and tastefully placed lyrics. you got your own style keep it up and you could be something some day, all of us boring cookie cutter singer songwriters are doomed to a hobby-ish life of open mics and coffeehouses but you could go somewhere with this

Oh thank you so much. It means alot to me. And coffee houses and open mics arent bad, heck thats all im doing right now. As long as the love of music is there, play on i say.mangold wrote:ok finally,

To 6 string 4 life, the dd-20 is the best delay pedal ive ever had, it is really straight forward. You dont have to buy the $30 external tap tempo switch, but its handy if you want to change different delay types on the fly and have them all set to the correct delay time (which i pretty much never do anyways). But i recommend it fully. Its build like a tank. Serious boss strength.
definitely not my cup of tea. i've never been able to get into this kellar williams/justin king tapping/looping stuff, but you did this one really well. when the chords came in after the intro, i got goose bumps. it's awesome. so hats off to you. i liked it. i would work on taking some of the bass out of your vocals and maybe turning them down a tad. the music's too pretty to be overruled by your vocals. good job
edit: i'm not trying to say your vocals were bad either. they were definitely good. they're just a bit too loud imo

I concur. If you can't turn it down without loosing the "fullness" of it (whatever that means; you know the sound I'm talking about) try turning it down and triple-layering, two panned opposite each other, one centered. Works pretty well.Appfro wrote: i would work on taking some of the bass out of your vocals and maybe turning them down a tad. the music's too pretty to be overruled by your vocals. good job

Psyched about the new equip. Sounds fun, and a great investment.
EDIT: "The Situation" was great fun to listen to, too.
Stay with me, safe and ignorant.
Thanks
thanks all for the advise, ill try that vocal distribution thing. Oh by the way i redid The Situation (pardon the corny name) so check that out if you like. Its better recording quality and faster. http://www.purevolume.com/zachweidenbach
