Nickel Creek cover inside...

Unread post by captainburrito » Tue Sep 26, 2006 2:56 pm

Hey folks, I am working on recording and my voice and what not, and decided to give "Doubting Thomas" by Nickel Creek a try. I hope y'all will give it a listen and tell me how it sounds and how not as good as Nickel Creek I am.

Probably one of my favorite Nickel Creek songs. You do a nice cover of it, but definetly some stuff to work on. Most significantly, your rythem and transition from part to part could be smoother. It seems kind of choppy at times going from the verse to the chorus to the bridge. Did you fingerpick this, or use a pick?

Overall, nice job.

I agree, good job but def. some stuff to work on. I give you props though, the voice was not too bad considering there is a lot of range covered in that song. I think you can do a better job though. Not that this one was bad, I just think that you are capable of doing a much better job, I could hear it in your voice, maybe try to relax a bit more?? The guitar was solid, but was a little different then how they play it I think. That's fine though, I hate playing most things the exact same way when I'm doing a cover. I think I'm going to play around with some Nickel Creek stuff tomorrow, I've been neglecting them recently...
