New lyrics, take a look

So I decided to do a little writing this afternoon, and wanted to post it in the hopes of getting some other opinions on what people think of it/ways to make it better. It's pretty short, but I view it as only a start to something. Here's what I have so far, any comments would be really appreciated


I linger within a time much lost
Could not be what is coming my way
Be what I've always thought?

And life takes in what it gives out
As much as we try to pray and pray
Leaving is the last of doubts

A grain of dirt fell to the ground
And upon it stepped a foot astray
Lifting it, she walked on by, silent as a sound

I felt the time leave me behind
Much as those eyes of grey
Never even looking back, or a stop to say goodbye
