I will follow you into the dark
Hey guys, haven't really recorded anything lately so I decided to tackle this one
I already know the critques you are gonna have, but I'm just an attention whore who wants people to hear me perform.
This is one take, guitar and vocal into a Shure microphone. Let me know if anybody wants to do any effects to it at all, I just amped it up a little.

this is one of my favorite songs so im going to be picky.
the guitar was pretty damn good, i would crit the recording because i would like it to be less muffled and strummy, but if you are doing the vocals and the guitar into one mic like i have been lately, this is damn good.
the only thing i would say on the vocals is that they sound a little spoken at many points. You hit all of the notes though, i would just say try to bit a LITTLE bit more power behind the vocals.
A damn good cover overall. Keep em comin you attention whore.

I Will Follow You Into the Dark – Death Cab for Cutie
They Capo 5, I put it on three because i hit puberty
Am C F C G
Am C G
Am C E C G
Am F C
C Am
Love of mine some day you will die
F C G
But I'll be close behind I'll follow you into the dark
No blinding light or tunnels to gates of white
Just our hands clasped so tight waiting for the hint of a spark
Am C F C G
If heaven and hell decide that they both are satisfied
Am C G
Illuminate the no's on their vacancy signs
Am C E C G
If there's no one beside you when your soul embarks
Am F C
Then I'll follow you into the dark
C Am
In Catholic school as vicious as Roman rule
F C G
I got my knuckles brusied by a lady in black
And I held my tongue as she told me son
Fear is the heart of love so I never went back
Am C F C G
If heaven and hell decide that they both are satisfied
Am C G
Illuminate the no's on their vacancy signs
Am C E C G
If there's no one beside you when your soul embarks
Am F C
Then I'll follow you into the dark
C Am
You and me have seen everything to see
F C G
from Bangkok to Calgary on the soles of your shoes
you’re all worn down the time for sleep is now
It's nothing to cry about cause we'll hold each other soon
Am C F C G
If heaven and hell decide that they both are satisfied
Am C G
Illuminate the no's on their vacancy signs
Am C E C G
If there's no one beside you when your soul embarks
Am F C
Then I'll follow you into the dark
Am F C

and if you actually listen to the original and my cover, that C and Am in the verse use an alternating bass line.
So the C is actually C/G and you alternate that bass line, then on the Am just alternate between A and E string. Hit me up on AIM if you have any specific questions

that tab is missing the "Blackest of rooms" part. that part you just hold an F chord and strum it a few times then go into the chorus

nah, i didn't think you were being pushy. i've found that there are no correct tabs anymore
i just take tabs and then change them for my own use. it's pretty much the only way to go. that might even be the tab that i used because i remember there being a G in there and me changing it
