Pig download

Unread post by dmbguitar718 » Mon Jun 26, 2006 8:31 pm

Put this one together over the past couple days. I took select lyrics and the chords from Pig, and crafted an acoustic version. It's kinda like if Pig, Don't Burn the Pig, and Proudest Monkey mated.

Enjoy.

You did a good job, but it wasn't really Pig. I bet that's what you were going for, but I wish it would have stayed a little truer to the original version.

That was very enjoyable, good job. It's nice to see some ppl. really doing some covers and branching off a bit from the original. I could care less if someone can play and sing a song just like Dave, welcome to a Dave Matthews guitar site lol... Your mix was very good too, it really gave some depth to the song. It could of been so so if it was not mixed right but you hit it. You need a bass in there to lead that since it's a bit repetative. What was ur recording setup? Also, at one point in the middle of the song there is a sort of high pitched ring that comes up for a few seconds. If you fixed that this would be peachy and I would have no complaints.

at first i thought i was going to love it, but it would have been better as an instrumental.

Good job! Care to post the tabs for the 2nd guitar part?(was that a banjo?) I've been looking for some Pig ideas.

i second mattinbeloit, i like how you took a dave song and made it your own. covering them like him is fun for personal entertainment, but i think if your really gonna cover something seriously you gotta make it your own (watchtower anybody?). i dig the banjo (especially last 20 secs), it seems like you were really trying to build from the don;t burn the pig base (pig verse lyrics), which was pretty bare in most outing, even with timmy. i think the banjo really goes perfectly and enhances that vibe making your version real chill. The lyrics suit that well cause they are strong enough to really stand on their own. makes me want to sit in the sun with a beer, although that would probably constitute burning the day.

are you and i so unalike?

I thought it was good. It sounds like La Bamba(the chord progression).
