Some Original Lyrics. Just Added Some New Songs.

Unread post by HumbleMonkey » Sun Jun 11, 2006 2:23 pm

I added some more songs.

Any critiquing would be much appreciated

The songs...

Really Who Are You

Code: Select all

When you look into that mirror do you like whats reflecting back at you
Are you surprised at all to look on that wall and see something that isnt you

A traveller stands on the welcome mat on the floor
He looks cold and hungry, you let him pass through your door
You offer him a bite and something to drink
It freezes your heart to see him on the brink
Of something that you truly do not know
Clean as dirt and deep as a puddle
To you he is brick wall but to him you are a window
He sees through to your thoughts and your dreams
Does it bother at that he sees those scary things
Grab hold of the rope thats twirllin and tossin
And take root if you will of the old oak tree
Bury your hate deep into the ocean
Its not worth the risk of causing a camotion

You can shatter a mirror if you dont like your reflection
But there's no getting rid of that ugly deprevation

Broken Ha Ha

Code: Select all

You say I'm broken please don't fix me
You've been been trying to fix me for far too long
You say I'm broken please don't fix me
Maybe you are the broken one

You say my mind is warped now needs a fixin
I ain't lookin' for the repairs you want
You say my mind is warped now needs a fixin
Maybe your just upset my mind is opened up

You say my path is slanted going nowhere
Well I'm quite aware about the way I'm going
You say my path is slanted going nowhere
Maybe your just upset about the path your on

You say my appearance is messy long hair flowin
Im quite comfortable with the way I look
You say my appearance is messy long hair flowin
Maybe your just upset that you can't grow none

You say I'm broken please don't fix me
You've been been trying to fix me for far too long
You say I'm broken please don't fix me
You ever think that you're the broken one

I Cant Leave Her Behind

Code: Select all

Where she leads me I don't know
Well she leads me where she goes
I can't keep up with her no more
As I turn and she slips away
But I can't leave her behind

All aware I just can't hear her walk
I just can't hear her talk
I can't find her no where
It seems she just doesn't care
But I can't leave her behind

And when she comes my way
I'll just be left here night or day
Just to hear her say
I tried, I also cried
But I can't leave her behind

And baby though I know your blue
Sometimes I'm blue too
I'm so blue without you
You know it's true
But I can't leave her behind

I Believe/I Dont Believe

Code: Select all

I'm not saying I don't believe in God
I'm not saying I don't believe in Jesus
I'm not saying I don't believe in Bible
I'm not saying I don't believe in Church

I'm just saying I might not believe you
At least not in everything you do
You question everything else that people do
I think it's time for you to question you

I'm not saying I don't believe in Government
I'm not saying I don't believe in Leaders
I'm not saying I don't believe in Prophets
I'm not saying I don't believe in Presidents

I'm just saying I might not believe you
At least not in everything you do
You question everything else that people do
I think it's time for you to question you

I'm not saying I don't believe in Teachers
I'm not saying I don't believe in priests
I'm not saying I don't believe in ministers
I'm not saying I don't believe in counselors

I'm just saying I might not believe you
At least not in everything you do
You question everything else that people do
Why don't you ever question you

One Last Time

Code: Select all

And you, stood at the gate, said you can't wait
Yet now I'm here standing,
Tell me how the clocks turn different for you

And your, ships setting sail, won't you please tell
the reason for leaving
I'm wishing to sail away from this place too

And why does that innocent man cry
A low price to pay for the CIA
Better have your sources straight before you start shooting

And the sweet, smell of perfume, that floats in this room
That makes my brain high
Won't you spend some time with me on this ride

And why, does the wise man wait, to receive his plate
The servings have already been dished out
If he is so wise why didnt he see this coming

And you stood in the door and was asking for more
I thought you were crazy but thats ok
Wild dreams come in all shapes and sizes

And now, I'm weary and lost, after carrying my cross
The time has come to settle down
Think I'll place my bet here on you now

You Fooled Me Too

Code: Select all

You Fooled Me Too

And when you're falling I want to be on the ground
to help you touch down
And if I could fly I'd fly up to you faster before you fell down
But then you caught yourself before I got hold
you fool
You fooled me too

And you asked me to walk you in the dark
You said you needed some guidance to help
find where you had parked
But you had your own light to guide your through
Now I'm alone in the dark without you
you fool
You fooled me too

And you dropped me a line saying you got something for me
I had something for you too
But when I asked to make it something special
I no longer heard from you
There was someone else there with you too
you fool
You fooled me too

And you asked me to do a dance You said you'd come along too
I got dressed real nice and practice my moves and polished my shoes
But when the floor opened up
I was just doin my own groove
you fool
You fooled me too

Sometimes

Code: Select all

Sometimes

How strange we step into this thing
You and me not knowing a thing
But of what will come we will see

Sometimes I feel the world is too heavy for me and
Sometimes I feel that I can pick it up and
Sometimes I fall, I need you to be there to pick me up

Once again I'm at your feet
Not the ones that you may think
But of the lovely lady next to me

Sometimes I feel the world is too heavy for me and
Sometimes I feel that I can pick it up and
Sometimes I fall, I need you to be there to pick me up

Sweet it sounds
You and me laughing about
And how I would love
The heavens dancing above

Sometimes I feel the world is too heavy for me and
Sometimes I feel that I can pick it up and
Sometimes I fall, but it's ok cause I got you there to pick me up

Passing By

Code: Select all

Passing By

Sun goes down, wolves howlin at the moon
All the darkness closes in around you
Light a match, it might just help you see a bit
And take off those shades, it might help too

And I feel a chill going through my bones
And the way the moon is hanging shows
Dreams of old, dreams of new
Over me, over you

A journey through the dark
My mind lights up with a spark
Spirits wandering, passing through
Oh no, it's left to just me and you

Stay clear stranger, keep your innocence
This fog is for me, keep your purity
And as I lie here on the floor
Please say no if I ask for more

And if I lie here please extend your hand
I really hope you would act like my friend
Robin Hood stealing for the poor
His friends couldn't ask for more

Jump onto your feet it's time to sing and dance
If you're afraid you might trip, take hold of your pants
Brothers and sisters my hat's off to you
But when I ask you to leave I mean it, I really do

All of time passing by
Hungry child in the night does cry
Pass the torch, flame burning anew
No longer for me but now for you

Rainy Day Thoughts

Code: Select all

Rainy Day Thoughts

In harmonizing sounds of a world becoming drowned in mysterious questions of how and why
If you would just take the time and effort to try
You would fall upon answers greater than you and I
However the reason for death can only be known once we die

Don't call on me for mission degrading to my name
Giants don't walk amongst peasants, you know that's quite lame
But it hurts sometimes when some people's reality to others is just a game
Looking past shapes and colors, everybody's just the same

Prowlin' around the savanna beneath the midday sun
Looking for the easy way out or soon be beneath the gun
And driving through Havanna smooth in my lighting wheels
Locked into the eyes of children, wondering what each one feels
It's quite comfortable for me to be anything I want others to see

Baggage can be lost or given away but it's sad when it's unclaimed
The nose goes 'cause it's easier for someone to blame
Entrepenuers taking risks, seeing what each one can gain
Sometimes its better to keep it simple, I'm just trying to remain

When totaling up your assets do you remember to count your friends
Nothing else really matters at the time and point when
Money can't buy your way onto the street called success
Man hold on to what's important, you can just forget about the rest

No More Need

Code: Select all

No More Need

A just war no
You soldiers go home
There's no more need for dying

A good reason for weeping no
You mourners go celebrate
There's no more need for crying

A cause for wasting time no
You politicians go do something useful
There's no more need for lying

A reward for robbing no
You thieves work for something
There's no more need for stealing

An excuse for taking life no
You murderers find respect for life
There's no more need for killing

A kick for pickin on people no
You insecure fools find joy
There's no more need for hurting

There's no more need for dying and crying and lying
And for you haters and hurters and killers
There is no more need for you

But come one come all we need you now
You lovers and dancers and singers
And You dreamers and teachers and believers
There is a need for you now

Great Battle

Code: Select all

Great Battle

A great war we must fight
But for it I put down my gun
For these battles will not be fought
with tanks, planes, and bombs

Do not build up those muscles
for they'll be no use
But build up your mind
for it holds the truth

We must shout it out loud
for the world is asleep
The confusion sets in
and they'll believe what they'll believe

What's hard may be right
and what's easy be wrong
Just do what is right
and I swear we'll get along

The sun shines up bright today
upon the dead branches of a tree
All imprints in the sand
are washed away by the sea

Death comes for us all
it's only a matter of time
When life costs a dime
they'll throw it aside

A second great wave
will wash out the scum
And for all of the good
the great ark you'll be on

It'll wash away the wars,
the hate, and disease
We'll forget about the sorrow
and rest under the trees

And that mysterious stranger
will reveal himself in the night
When truth be told
there'll be no need to fight

When that final bell rings
that's it, we are done
We may now rest
and our children have fun

Hotel Jottings

Code: Select all

Hotel Jottings

Swirls of emotion pour out through a river old and new
Surprises seem to jump from nowhere, yet somehow you always knew
As you go forward in time you wish you could go back
Go back to what you should have said, what you should have done
To tell you the truth, it really doesn't matter now, it's gone

You can line up, pass in all your complaints
What you think your gonna change
You should know by now our power is not truly what it seems
Our allegiance is blindly in the king
Who and how and what and why as the river runs dry
People start to cry, and while blackness fills the sky

But then again a shady dream pours into the sea
A drop of water does nothing to change the ocean
and human life in motion wont even cause a camotion
unless you forget the notion that nobles dont care about peasants dreams
But then again nobody has control of the fight of the mind
raging the revenge out of getting back at them

The noise of a crowded train flows sweetly through my brain
A drop and a spill of mind on the paper fills up the lines
One splash of a vision I no longer can see, erased from my memory
This picture has past into only a dream but it can be covered by the curtains
Peeping Tom has no need to see me

You ask questions which you already know
But you dont have to ask them even if you dont
Move past that, you got nothing to prove
And to tell you the truth not much to lose
Unraveled thoughts spin like a weaver will sew
All thoughts in my mind will find their way through on their own

Once upon a time a man once believed in something
Your barriers are not even limited at the sky
And that time when you are old and your casket filled with gold
Think back remember the tears of the freezing cold
I don't care if you lie to yourself and believe in betrayal
Just don't come around here when false convictions fail

Freedom For All

Code: Select all

Freedom For All

You senators and congressmen
please find something better to do with your time
There has got to be something more important dwelling on your mind
You make laws that allow people to take life away
It's their right you say
What if I feel like taking yours away today

Is life and liberty some kind of joke
Whos rights are you trying to protect
How about the innocent life you are trampling over
The young sheep who has done no wrong, caused no harm
Are you trying to corrupt him just like you
To lie and cheat and steal like you

Your bills we pay and we're supposed to do what you say
Its time someone takes your power away
Your reckless mind needs to quit
Lets get some leaders who can reason and think
A man with some kind of decency
Have the lions of politics devoured them all

You just walked over that man lying there in the street
With nothing to eat, nothing on his feet
With plenty of food and a stomach like that how can you complain
A child's belly swells to the size of yours but for reasons not the same
Life is just not a game you play
If they were yours would you treat them the same

You say its not up to me to tell them how to behave
The land of the free, the ill and depraved
Stand up tall and decide which side you are really on
The wind is blowing hard now in your face
Take it and embrace it and make me proud again to say
I live in the land of the U.S. of A
