Guitar is cool. I like it. Im busy learning this song too, so it was good to hear that.
Your voice? Well, dude. You're not a singer. Im not being a dick, but the singing was horrible.
But good guitar though!

Just an FYI, that guy is wrong. I can't believe you agreed with him. You are whatever you want to be man..
Your voice sounds pretty good to me, and I've heard much worse in my time. Obviously it needs some polishing, maybe a little more energy or emotion, but really just practice. Maybe a week, maybe a year, you never know, but you can always improve.

man, forget that guy...fuck him for telling you that you're not a singer. that's like telling someone that put on skates for the first time and fell on his ass that he's not a hockey player. I'm assuming that you're relatively new to singing, but at least you can stay in tune. If people listened to guys like that, there would be practically nobody doing anything in the arts. What people seem to forget is that singing takes time to learn just like everything else. Dave sounded like shit in the early nineties, but look at him now.
As for the cover, guitar was good. Singing needs work, and yes you WILL improve if you just keep singing. I'd say get some books on it, see how you progress with that, then look at some lessons.
One bit of advice I can give you about singing, is just stand up with your guitar and go to a bigger room and pick an object that's at least 30 feet away from you and sing to that object. This will get you to open up a little bit, because it sounds like you sing to your computer, and that's all. Let me know how this goes...HEH
