compress .wav

i'm using audacity. when I export to .wav it makes it a huge .wav file... a 2 minute song is 11mb. should only be 2mb or less. why is the file so damn big??? how do I make is smaller?? please help. thanks.

convert em to mp3...there is a bunch of progs on the net

audacity has an option to jsut export as mp3, thats the way to go

Also, if you have the mkw .shn converter, you can right-click on your wav file and select 'convert to mp3'.

Funny you brought that up, I did this about an hour ago for some music I recorded for the first time in Audacity. It came out 11mb for only a minute of music. So I converted to mp3 and it's now only 2mb.

or SHN if you want to keep it lossless
