Shins cover - Pink Bullets

Unread post by You_Enjoy_Myself » Fri Apr 15, 2005 7:11 pm

I was bored last night, so I decided to record a song. This is a pretty plain-jane song, nothing too fancy, but I really like it. I think it turned out pretty good, but the voice could be stronger at some parts. Let me know what you think.

Never actually heard the song but the cover sounds solid. the guitar melody sounds simple but very nice

Awesome man. Thanks a bunch. Excellent cover by the way. I'm gonna try and do a New Slang cover when I get home for summer.

Excellent job Mitch! The Shins are awesome. I'm working on a Turn a Square cover right now, I think I might gain the balls to post it.

EDIT: You forgot the "warm light on a winter's day" and all of the last verse. But it's outstanding nonetheless.

It's funny, I recorded that part several times, but I was never happy with how it came out. So I just left it off. I was wondering if anyone would call me on that.

And Turn A Square is a great song, make sure you post a recording of that one.

Great cover, Mitch. Great rhythm. I think you have a little bit of Elliot Smith in your voice. I'm particularly impressed with the lead guitar. I also liked how you faded the track out to end. Good cover, keep it up.

Be excellent to one another.

Thing is, I'm not sure anyone really wants to hear me sing anything. Not even me really.

your fill in guitar part is superb. freaking awesome. it's so on. Your vocals were for the most part really good, maybe just a few small misses, but nothing to even care to fix. sounded great.

i'm going to see the shins in asheville next week. i'm pretty psyched even though i don't know a lot of their music. it'll still be a good concert i think. anyway, good job mitch.
