My Band's MP3 medley promo PLS critique.
This isn't anything fancy, we didn't even have the violin there to do his parts, but it's pretty good. I am wondering if anybody would be interested in hearing our original "I'll see you again" We haven't recorded the words yet, and it's just a rough cut, but I'd like some criticism. Just as long as nobody compares it to Greystreet. They are two totally different songs.

vocals
He's supposed to try to sound like dave, that's the point of a tribute band. We use a "normal" singer with his own sound for our album "identity"

thanks
Thanks jellyfish. We just had to play the popular ones so the clients would recognize them. I'll post our original just as soon as possible. Thanks again. check out http://www.dmbtributeband.com for more info.
Re: thanks
You guys should come up to the Hampton Roads area (Norfolk, Ches. VA. Beach) I saw that you were here once before. I have some contacts in the area at some clubs/bars that I used to play. If you need some help let me know.twostpleadguitarist wrote:Thanks jellyfish. We just had to play the popular ones so the clients would recognize them. need some help
That would kick ass if you sent into some clubs up there and gave out our website. We're still putting together a promo pack with video, but we'd appreciate any help you could give us and we promise to bring one hell of a show every where we go. THANKS!

He's too nasal. His drumming is hot shit though, amazing stuff.twostpleadguitarist wrote:He's supposed to try to sound like dave, that's the point of a tribute band. We use a "normal" singer with his own sound for our album "identity"
The music in general is crazy good. The sax solo was brilliant. Where's the lead guitar?

Re: vocals
Agreed. It kinda sounds awkward, because you know that's not how he sounds when he talks. He's warping his voice in weird ways to sound exactly like someone else. It's fine to try to sound exactly like Dave since you are a tribute band, but with that voice it does seem like the singer is making fun or doing impressions.MWR wrote:He's too nasal. However, over time that impression will get better & sound very close to Dave's voice.BenPezzner wrote:Agreed. It kinda sounds awkward, because you know that's not how he sounds when he talks. The reason I am replying to you is because I have had some down time at work for the past 3 weeks & this forum helps me through the day. Now, when you tell me to get a life, I am confused? Because I rarely post outside of work hours & maybe I might throw a few posts on the weekend if I am bored. I hope that satisfys your curiousity & my patience are wearing thin on you. I had tried to be nice to you after the initial conflict but you seem to want to carry this even farter. Take your own advice & PM me if you need to talk. Sorry for the hijack......Back to the Tribute.
