An original, New Year's Eve
Well, since I'm home sick this new year's eve, I decided to record a small ditty. Aptly titled New Year's Eve, it's in open D, and it's just a few little parts I've been messing around with lately, that I sort of married together. Then I laid a subtle lead track over it, some harmonics and a little shaker for some percussion. Comments and feedback are muchly appreciated. Thanks alot.

I take every gif I watch (which is A LOT) with a humongous grain of salt. But I don't let that grain of salt get into my eye and blind me to whatever truth can be found in what I'm watching. He is not any worse than any other poster here, and the people who claim he is just don't know what they're talking about. The demonization has gotten ridiculously out of hand.

That's kinda mean. He's a great guitarist who shows alot of promise. He is very skilled, and you can tell he's getting better by the moment, especially with his original material. (This one's great man. I say mess with some reverb and stuff, and you can get it to sound really good.)praisedave wrote:i didnt kno you were this good. i thought u were another one of the useless douches that lived in the nondmb forum. i dont know why, must have been your av. good stuff, keep it up.
Keep playing though, you're awesome.

Well it was an extremely arrogant comment either way. I'm not saying I'm good, I'm not, I suck.praisedave wrote:i wasnt trying to be mean at all. this is really good. i was saying that i didnt expect it from him. sorry if that came across wrong.dmbguitar718 wrote:That's kinda mean. Mitch, nice work, I liked it a lot. As Appfro said, it was mixed together very well. Keep it up.

Hmmmmmm, it seems my av is giving off the impression that I am a "useless douche", as much I as would hate to lose the famed rabbit ears/ymca/random drunk pic, it might be time for a change.
I've been playing for 8 years now, and writing originals, both with lyrics and without, for about 3 years now. I started messin around with open tunings about a year and a half ago and fell in love with open D, and DADGAD.
And thanks for the feedback guys.
Pat, I wasn't sure if I wanted any reverb on this one, I wanted to try and keep a crisp sound to it, if that makes sense. Although, it might sound cool.
