Proudest Monkey (A little different)

Unread post by dmbguitar718 » Thu Dec 30, 2004 11:39 pm

Some notes on this one:

- Capo 1.
- The solos didn't work out well at times. Whatever, I'm working on that.
- I played the main riff four times, then looped it. Made things a bunch easier. I just added the other stuff after.
- This was fun to work out (all the riffs etc). I suggest doing the same the same thing. Play a song differently. Whether it be a capo, alternate tuning, whatever. Just try it. You can get some cool sounds.
- I debated putting vocals in, but I decided it was either all or nothing with the vocals, and I wasn't up for the "all" part.

Sounds damn good as usual Pat. The recording quality is near perfect, sounds so sweet.

One small thing, about 3/4 the way through, it sounded like the rhythm and the lead line weren't synched that well, it sounded a little mushed.

But damn nice job, and I agree about finding other ways to play songs that you already know.

can you give me the time? it might be a little track that i took out right before i exported it. it had no business being there, it just screwed everything up. maybe it found its way on the final copy. or...it could just be that i messed it up, which it probably is. i also just realized that i have a track playing like 15 seconds before it should. it matches up, but its playing with the solo, and i wanted it after it. whatever.

wow you pretty much rewrite the whole song. Great job turning a song with nothing (for guitar) into something full of flavors.

I can't pinpoint the time Pat, because the player I'm using doesn't show time. Hopefully someone else can hear it too, and they can let you know.

Your playing is really nice and understated. You didn't try to go over the top which is a good decision for this song.
The recording is f-ing phenomonal though. Just about as good as I've ever heard. The levels are just right, nothing "sticks out". I'm very impressed.
