When writing a song......

Do you right the lyrics first or the music?

I suck, have been playing only a year but was fiddling around and came up with the guitar intro and verse. I think it sounds alright and it is just variations on G and D. (i think) I dont have a mic but will try to put it up soon so you guys can let me know what you think.

i couldnt tell you, having never written a song. if i did though i think i would write the music first.. dont really know why. i think it would just seem more natural to me. post 500
